Tree Chute
The Westernmost of the chutes that drop down into Granite Canyon, Tree Chute is a long, narrow, steep, North facing chute that runs through the trees. Avalanche danger is very high, and the long exit out of Granite Canyon and back to the resort takes you underneath of many dangerous slide paths. Wind loading can make this area particularly dangerous and hard to evaluate. Never drop into a zone in the backcountry when other people are still in it down below you. If you see fresh tracks going in, you should wait for them to exit the zone, or choose another objective.
