Teton Pass South

The North and South sides of Teton Pass are divided on this site because they’re considered to be in two different ranges. The North side of the highway is in the Teton Range, and the South side is in the Snake River Range. There is a lot of danger out here, with high avalanche risk as well as the possibility of getting lost in the wilderness and dying of exposure. Never go into the backcountry without safety gear, experienced partners, knowledge of the area and the terrain you plan to ski, proper avalanche training, and first-hand experience with the current snowpack.

Check the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center’s daily forecast before you go into the backcountry, and remember that a low-danger day can still be deadly.
