Corkscrew
This is a steep, incredibly dangerous avalanche prone North facing gully. Use the parking area at Peru Creek Road and hike up the nearest ridge to access this line, going past Cadillac and High Voltage on the ridge. You’ll find a big cornice threatening this line during most of the season. It’s possible to find a way in without coming off the cornice, but it remains a threat. If it breaks off, the whole gully might slide. It’s steep enough and it holds a lot of snow. Be sure of the conditions, and don’t spend a lot of time in the line of fire. When you finish, make your way across the creek and up to the road to get back to the parking area. You’ll be taking Peru Creek Road to the West for a little over a mile and a half, mostly flat and downhill. If you park your car in Montezuma, it will be towed.
