The Backyard
The slope going up to the Southwest shoulder of Greg Mace Peak is known as the Backyard Slope. N-NW facing, and much less steep than Greg Mace Peak Northwest Face just to the skier's right of this line, this is nonetheless avalanche terrain that goes underneath other bigger slide paths making it extra dangerous during times of avalanche threat. The 10th Mountain Division Tagert & Green-Wilson Huts are just a quarter mile up the drainage from the base of the slide path.
